REASSEMBLY OF THE AW139

The moving process of the CAE AW139 Level D Full-Flight Simulator began as Coptersafety moves the simulator into its new modern training center, located in the proximity of Helsinki airport, which already hosts a variety of FSTD’s.

HELSINKI, FINLAND – Coptersafety is relocating its AW139 Level D Full-Flight Simulator. The relocation process will take about 1.5 months, and it is done in cooperation with the experts from CAE and Van der Vlist. The evaluation and approval of the EASA compliance authorities itself will take place at the end of August, after the reassembly and testing of the AW139 helicopter simulator.

RECERTIFICATION OF THE AW139

The last simulator slots were flown at the beginning of July 2019. Furthermore, on July 15th, the dismantling of the simulator started.  After the unwiring, the process will move on quickly as the simulator will then be transferred into the new facility, which is located right next to the old building.

At the end of August, after the essential testing and tunings, the Finnish Civil Aviation Authority Traficom will come to evaluate the simulator. Consequently, the company is initially looking to have the simulator recertified and back to its regular operation by the end of August.

CREATING A COMMUNITY TO ENHANCE THE SAFETY CULTURE

“One of our primary goals from the start has been to create a stable and efficient training experience for pilots and their instructors to further improve engagement and to promote productivity and customer mobility. Thus, having all of our simulators, and moreover, trainees under the same roof, will further heighten the community we are building here,” asserts Erkka Suvikumpu, the Chief Executive Officer at Coptersafety.

Even though our AW139 simulator will be out of use for the following month and a half, the booking will remain open throughout the summer.
